Introducing the 6500X: Protection Beyond Limits

2 minute read

Global pharmaceutical supply chains are becoming more complex. Volumes are increasing, networks are expanding, and shipments are moving across multiple regions and transport modes.

But the ability to move large volumes of temperature-sensitive products reliably has not kept pace. Many supply chains are still constrained by packaging, infrastructure, and limited transport flexibility.

Today, that changes. Introducing the 6500X.

Reliable Performance at Global Scale

The 6500X delivers up to 300 hours of independent runtime at +20°C, maintaining a precise internal temperature of  +2°C to +8°C or +15 to +25°C across external conditions ranging from −40°C to +60°C.

This level of independence reduces reliance on external infrastructure and minimizes intervention during transit. Fewer handovers. Less repacking. More stable operations across long and complex routes.

Built for operational simplicity, the 6500X is compatible with all standard forklift types, enabling smooth and efficient handling across different logistics environments without the need for specialized equipment.

With a tare weight of 877 kg (the lowest in the industry) and a payload capacity of 4,625 kg, the container accommodates up to five EU pallets or four US pallets within a single unit,  enabling efficient consolidation and reducing shipment fragmentation, improving reliability and reducing operational friction at scale.

Engineered for Complex and Challenging Routes

Pharmaceutical supply chains rarely follow simple, linear paths. Shipments move across regions, pass through multiple hubs, and often require switching between transport modes.

The 6500X is designed to operate reliably across these conditions.

It enables seamless transport across air, land, and ocean within the same container, removing the need for repacking or changes in protection when routes or modes shift. This makes it possible to adapt transport strategies based on cost, urgency, or disruption, without introducing additional risk.

For example, shipments can move from Europe to a regional hub and continue to final destinations across air, ocean, or land without repacking or changes in protection.

Clients can leverage Validaide to set up new shipping methods using the 6500X’s multimodal capabilities and increase volume without increasing risk.  Additionally, Validaide provides tracking and intervention throughout the shipment.

Richard Ettl, CEO SkyCell

“The world has changed since the last multi-pallet container came to market. Product value and
sensitivity have increased, while temperatures have become more extreme – as volumes grew, so did the risks,“ said Richard Ettl, CEO of SkyCell.

The 6500X was developed in close collaboration with pharmaceutical clients, airline partners, and freight forwarders to address these challenges directly. It enables our customers to design their supply chains with greater flexibility, without compromising on protection, performance, or reliability.

A Scalable Portfolio with the 1500X

The 6500X and 1500X are designed to work together, giving you the flexibility to handle different shipment sizes without adding operational complexity.

Using both container types within the same shipment makes it easier to match container capacity to actual volume needs, improving load optimization and overall transport utilization.

The result is more efficient use of capacity across the supply chain, helping reduce logistics costs while lowering CO₂ emissions.

Global Adoption Already Underway

The 6500X was developed with Pharma, Freight Forwarder, and Airline partners, and it already secured initial approvals from ANA, Delta Cargo, Emirates SkyCargo, Etihad Cargo, ITA Airways, Japan Airlines, Qatar Airways Cargo, Singapore Airlines, and United Cargo, alongside leading global freight forwarding partners.

Additional airline and freight forwarding partners are progressing through technical validation and operational rollout.
